Ifrane

Villes impériales, villages, paysages et savoir-faire à découvrir autour de Fès.

Nestled at 1,713 m altitude, the pleasant little town of Ifrane is a surprising replica of the finest European resorts. Calm, lush greenery, generous bodies of water and ski slopes make it the dream destination for a relaxing stopover where sport rhymes with comfort.

Comfortably settled in its little retro train, you will delight in discovering this charming small town of the Moroccan Middle Atlas. Famous for its caves, from which it takes its name, it is characterised by a strongly European style of urban planning, a temperate but very humid climate, with an average temperature of 11°C. Its faunal and floral biodiversity is most remarkable, as illustrated by its national park, home to the largest cedar forest in the world, with intoxicating scents and a lovely spot for a picnic.

The Middle Atlas in its purest form

If you venture further, within a 7 km radius, you will find the Vittel spring, or Spring of the Virgin; that of Ras El Ma, located on the road to Azrou; or the Refuge waterfalls, with their bucolic sounds of water. For lovers of boat rides or canoe enthusiasts, magnificent lakes provide the ideal setting for peaceful daydreaming by the water or great fishing outings with friends: Dayet Aoua, known for its numerous pikes, Afenourir, a refuge for migratory birds and now a protected area, Dayet Hachlaf, rich in trout, and finally Dayet Ifrah, the largest lake in the Middle Atlas (117 ha in area with a depth of 12 m), home to 1,500 wintering birds.
