What a pleasure it is for the Riad Jamaï team to present to all its guests such a patio, featuring typically Moroccan architecture. Large symmetrical arcades serenely guard a patio of about 100 square meters. Originally non-existent, the pool arcades were added during the renovation to preserve the architectural style found in the riads of Fez.

A pool in the patio

The patio features a pool 3.50m wide by 7m long, allowing you to swim and cool off away from prying eyes and exclusively for the riad’s travelers. The pool is filtered by a mechanism on level -1 of the riad, using a pump and a fully electrified circuit. You can enjoy the colors of the patio day and night with the play of light from the large facades combined with those of the pool.

Careful finishes for a wonderful result

Beyond its charm from the pool and its large arcades, Moroccan craftsmanship has brought all its expertise to the riad Jamaï. Guests discover a finesse in each of the materials used; the carved plasters, for example, also called stucco, are absolutely magnificent on the rings of the arcades. Above the large doors of the rooms, other stucco works can be seen, notably with the date the riad was created. The zelliges, also called mosaics or ceramics, adorn the base of the arcades, the patio floor and the door jambs. The zellige pieces arrived square-cut and were shaped on site by a craftsman.

Sit, read, surf in the patio

Several spots are available to the right and left of the pool for sitting and chatting with friends. As a family, you will be tempted by this larger lounge located in the main part of the patio. The patio also offers a large number of seats for dining, at tables for 2 or larger group tables. Besides the riad’s library, guests love to sit and read peacefully, surf using the riad’s wifi, or simply sit with a tea and take in the surroundings. The team’s services are appreciated in every circumstance from one of these patio armchairs bordering the pool or overlooking it from the library.

The heart of the riad

The patio represents the heart of the riad; it’s a patio with extraordinary proportions for a riad in Fes, its dimensions give a feeling of well-being and space. There is not a single window that doesn’t overlook this shared space, this shared living area. It is the heart of the guest house where every visitor dines, moves about, sits down for a tea. The patio is punctuated by the comings and goings of travelers, and it is also very pleasant to smell the scents rising from the kitchen.
