Fez and its history through museums
The Batha museum is a tourist site next to the square of the same name, not far from Boujloud and its blue gate. The Batha museum houses Moroccan arts within this former royal palace. Beyond a very beautiful collection of art, 100% Moroccan, you will be able to appreciate the beauty of this place, where you can appreciate the quality of the handmade work on certain pieces. It is also one of the most beautiful gardens in Fez, which will bring you freshness and shade during hot periods.

The Nejjarine museum
The Nejjarine museum, Riad Jamaï has already introduced you to this major landmark of the Fez-el-bali medina at the time of the foundouks (link to the Foundouk page). This museum, a former 18th century caravanserai, now offers a wood museum. The Fez region is rich in forests (link see Fez region page), with in particular cedar wood, a wood widely used for construction. Riad Jamai, for example, has all of its ceilings made of cedar wood, like many riads, restored or unrestored, in Fez. The Nejjarine museum will show you true craftsmanship with carved ceilings, magnificent wooden doors and several everyday objects as well as artworks.
The Nejjarine museum is located near the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, to the left of a beautiful neighborhood fountain that you will find in photos in tourist guides.
Opening hours of the Nejjarine museum: closed on Tuesdays – hours: 10am to 5pm

Borj Nord Museum
The 3rd museum that the Riad Jamaï team wishes to present to you is that of Borj Nord. You will find a breathtaking view of the medina of Fez since the Borj is located on a hill surrounding the old city. This former fort has partly kept its mission since it now houses an exceptional collection of weapons. By walking around the Borj, you will find an entrance to access this museum, and without a doubt you will appreciate the significance of this collection with weapons dating back several centuries, probably from prehistory, and more recent weapons from the last century.
