The new city offers a range of spas where you’ll love being pampered, relaxing in the modern facilities that an institute like Nausikaa can offer. You can get a massage, be soaped, washed and rinsed as a traditional hammam requires, simply the facilities are more modern and built to receive clients. Alongside body treatments, Nausikaa also lets you visit the hairdresser to perfect your haircut during your stay in Morocco.
The hammams beldis of the thousand-year-old medina
As explained above, hammams beldis represent a truly typical experience of Morocco and particularly of Fez. You’ll need to venture into the medina after finding out about the quality and cleanliness of the hammam. For example, the riad’s team recommends the hammam beldi in the Moulay Idriss district for this adventure. The treatments provided are exactly the same as those enjoyed by the residents of Fez: a masseur or masseuse will take care of you, massaging, washing with a kessa glove and rinsing. You’ll feel a sensation of lightness when leaving the hammam. The price is around 11dh for the hammam alone and 40dh to 50dh for the hammam plus masseur.
Body treatments at Riad Jamaï
The last option the guest house can offer is a custom request with one of our masseuses coming to the riad. We have two qualified women who can travel with their massage table to give treatments in the patio or in the suites. This option is tailor-made and represents a compromise between the specialized institutes of the new city and the authenticity of the medina hammams.
How does it work?
The Riad Jamaï team arranges the taxi transfer from the house to the new city for beauty institutes, we recommend Nausika. Regarding the hammam beldi, preparation takes place at the riad with explanations on how the treatments unfold; ideally you should walk there, using the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss as a landmark to find the recommended hammam. As a last option, body treatments at the riad can be arranged by request with the team.
