The city of Fez is located in the north of Morocco between the Middle Atlas and Meknes, south of the region known as the Rif. Its geographical location is ideal for those who are not looking for the sea during a holiday in Morocco. The city of Fez enjoys a climate similar to that found in Spain or the south of France. The proximity of the city of Fez to the Middle Atlas, just a few kilometers to the east of the ancient city, brings a coolness in the winter season when the sun sets.
A spring in Fez and its region
Two seasons are truly ideal for traveling to the fabulous medina of Fez: spring and autumn, both for the colors that the imperial city offers, but also for the very pleasant climate during the day and evening. The high tourist seasons run from March to June and during September and October. During the day, the sun is pleasant and not too strong, allowing us to fully enjoy the Moroccan climate. In the evening, the various materials that have heated up all day release their warmth, allowing you to fully and comfortably enjoy the evenings.
Staying in a riad depending on the season
Since a riad is a house closed off from the outside, very little sunlight actually enters the riad. The spaces of a riad in the Fez medina are bright, and the heat of July and August is not unpleasant to experience in these traditional Moroccan houses. For our winter guests, we recommend bringing a few sweaters for after sunset in order to enjoy the patio. As for Riad Jamaï, all of our spaces benefit from reversible air conditioning, a system that allows us to adapt according to the seasons, both heating and cooling the living areas.
